The government has swung into action due to sudden weather strikes on the farmers. Special girdawari will be done for the damaged crops. The Bhiwani district in-charge of opposition parties and BJP Kisan Morcha have urged for immediate special girdawari and compensation for the loss by giving compensation to the farmers. Agriculture and revenue departments have also become active in view of hailstorm and unseasonal rains.
Agriculture Minister JP Dalal has directed the agriculture officers to immediately receive complaints of crop failure from the farmers. The government will also compensate the loss to the farmers who do not have crop insurance. BJP Kisan Morcha State Executive Member Rajendra Sharma Vats said that in many villages of Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri districts, hailstorm has become a severe natural calamity. The government should give a compensation of 30 thousand rupees per acre instead of 15000 by making a special girdawari immediately.
Issue compensation in 15 days: Surjewala
Indian National Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala and State Congress President Kumari Selja said that the government should give compensation in 15 days by conducting a special girdawari of crops damaged by hailstorm. In many districts of the state including Ambala, Yamunanagar, Bhiwani, Dadri, Narnaul, Gurugram, Rohtak, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Mahendragarh, Palwal, farmers have suffered huge losses. Compensation should be given at the rate of Rs 50,000 per acre for mustard crop and Rs 40,000 per acre for vegetables. Selja said that the frequent rains and hailstorms have broken the back of the farmers. Now the courage of the farmer has started answering. At least 12 rains and hailstorms in the past months have caused major damage to the crops of farmers.

INLD MLA Abhay Singh Chautala said that the government should give immediate compensation to the farmers by getting Girdawari done. In many districts, due to hailstorm, white sheets of hail have been spread in the fields, due to which the ready wheat and mustard crops of the farmers have been ruined. Economic crisis has arisen in front of the farmers. 50 thousand rupees per acre should be given as compensation for the damaged crops.
