The hearing in the arrest case of BJP leader Tajinder Bagga was adjourned for Tuesday. According to ASG Satya Pal Jain, representing Delhi Police, the petition was filed by the Punjab government in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday. The matter has been adjourned till Tuesday, May 10, as it was a matter of a separate Bench. Therefore, the matter will be heard again on Tuesday.
Jain said, “After the Delhi Police got the search warrant of the Delhi Court, Tejinder Bagga was taken into their custody from Peepli. He was produced in the court last evening. Today the Punjab government has given two applications to the court. We have given a copy of which has come to us. Its hearing will also be held on Tuesday.”
Let us inform that after the arrest of Bagga on Friday, there was tension and a lot of political drama between the police of three states. However, late night BJP leader Tejinder Pal Bagga reached his house. Tejinder Bagga was produced before the magistrate late last night, after which he has been sent home.
Bagga claimed on Saturday that Punjab Police had barged into his house in large numbers and arrested him “as they would do to any terrorist”. While talking on this this morning, Bagga narrated the full story of his arrest in a sequential manner. He said no warrant was shown to me. When about eight people picked me up, I asked them to let me tie my turban.
Bagga said, “The policemen did not even give me a chance to wear a turban and chappal. I was picked up and put in the vehicle. I was kidnapped by the Punjab Police. Even the local police were not informed about it. About 50 policemen came like They do it to a terrorist.”
