New Delhi: From UP-Bihar to Delhi-NCR, the scorching heat is now creating havoc. Earlier there was severe heat only in some parts of eastern and southern peninsular India, but now severe heat has started in North India also. From Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan to Punjab, scorching heat has started. The temperature in these areas has started increasing suddenly and people are now afraid to come out of their homes during the day. However, in the meantime, it is also a matter of relief that there is a possibility of light rain and thunderstorm in some areas of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh today and tomorrow.
According to IMD, light to moderate rain and thundershowers have been predicted in Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand between May 5 and 9. IMD said that the ongoing heat wave in eastern and southern peninsular India will continue till May 5-6 and will end after that. Not only this, light to moderate rain is expected in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh between May 5 and 9. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Karnataka between May 6 and May 9.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of strong winds in Delhi on 6 May. But at present, it is very hot in Delhi-NCR on the morning of 6th May. Now it remains to be seen how accurate the weather department’s forecast is. However, it may rain any day between May 6 and May 9. The temperature in Delhi has touched 40 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, widespread rain is expected in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu from May 6. Although the initial rain may be moderate, the intensity of rain is expected to increase significantly on May 7. Heavy rain may also occur in some areas of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema. This rain is likely to continue till May 9, which will provide considerable relief from the ongoing heat wave in these areas.
Where will it rain today and tomorrow?
Today, light rain and thundershowers along with lightning and strong winds (40-50 kmph) are expected over Northeast India. West Bengal may receive isolated heavy rainfall on May 7 and 8, while Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand may receive light rain with thunder and lightning between May 7 and 10. Today i.e. between May 6 and 9, there may be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Vidarbha, south-east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. At the same time, there is a possibility of heat wave in some parts of West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu.
