There is no possibility of relief for the people suffering from the heat in most parts of the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain normal in most parts of the country and the maximum temperature may cross 45. People have got some relief from the heat due to rain in some areas along the coast and in Bengaluru, but in most parts the heat is very troubling.
Talking about the states of North and Central India, there are chances of rain only in Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh. Everywhere else will have to bear the brunt of the heat.
It may rain in these places
According to the Meteorological Department, apart from Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh, there is a possibility of rain in Sikkim, Manipur and Thanjavur, Nagapattinam of Tamil Nadu. Due to rain in these districts, people can get some relief from the heat. Earlier, the temperature had come down due to rain in Bengaluru, Dharwad and Goa of Karnataka.
The heat is extremely harsh in these states
On April 20, Baripeda in Odisha was the hottest area in the country. The temperature here was 45.2 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Bankura, West Bengal was 44.6 degrees. It was 43.6 degrees Celsius in Daulatganj of Jharkhand and 43 degrees Celsius in Rajnandgaon of Chhattisgarh. On April 20, the mercury reached 43 degrees in 16 cities of four states. Of these, maximum seven states were from Odisha. The temperature in four cities of West Bengal was more than 43 degrees. The weather is expected to remain normal in most areas of North and Central India in the coming days also. There may be strong sunshine with dusty hot winds and the temperature is likely to exceed 40 degrees during the day.
