New Delhi. On one hand, monsoon is active and rain is falling in Kerala and South India as well as Northeast India. On the other hand, all the states of North and West India as well as East India are facing intense heat. The Meteorological Department has once again issued a heat alert. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of heatwave is going to trouble people from West India to Odisha even today.
The Meteorological Department has said that the effect of heatwave will be seen in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Odisha. People in all these states have been asked to avoid heat wave. It was very hot in all these states on Sunday as well. The Meteorological Department estimates that the maximum temperature in North India may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius by Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, people got relief from rain on Sunday in some areas of Rajasthan which were suffering from heat. Up to 5 mm of rain was recorded in these areas. The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of rain in the areas of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Jodhpur. At the same time, there is a lot of rain in Kerala due to monsoon. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Ernakulam, Kerala. There is a possibility of up to 20 cm of rain in Ernakulam.

On the other hand, heavy rains are being witnessed in Northeast India due to the monsoon becoming active. Assam has even been flooded. Due to floods in 10 districts of Assam, lakhs of people have been moved to safer areas. Kushiyara, Barak and Kopili rivers in Assam are flowing above the danger mark. People in districts like Hailakandi, Hojai, Karimganj, Nagaon, Morigaon, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong, Dibrugarh, which fall in the area of these rivers, have been affected by the floods.
