New Delhi. The Meteorological Department has made the latest prediction regarding heatwave. According to the Meteorological Department, people will have to face the havoc of heatwave in all the states of the country till April 29. The scorching heat will wreak havoc in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for West Bengal and Odisha and an orange alert of heatwave for Bihar, Karnataka.
According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave is going on in West Bengal since April 17. There is heat wave situation in all the districts in Odisha since April 15. People may suffer heatstroke in red alert areas in Odisha and Bengal. People can become ill due to heat even in orange alert areas. The Meteorological Department says that people will also have to face severe heat in Goa, coastal areas of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura. However, in some areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain reducing the effect of heatwave.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heatwave for 8 days in all areas of the country in April. Heat wave will last for 3 days in some areas. Heat wave havoc is likely to be seen more in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, UP, Vidarbha and Marathwada of Maharashtra. The weather department had already told that there is going to be severe heat this year. The effect of this estimate has started becoming visible since April itself. Whereas, heatwave conditions usually occur in May and June. The Meteorological Department has already said that this year there will be good rainfall in the monsoon season and every part of the country is going to be drenched.
