The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for the state. Moving towards the east, people will have to face heatwave for the next few days in Bihar, Jharkhand, Ganga coastal areas of West Bengal, Odisha and many areas of Andhra Pradesh. On Monday, the temperature in Kalaikunda in West Bengal and Kandala in Kerala was more than 45 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, the temperature was recorded at 44 degrees in Sheikhpura in Bihar, around 45 degrees in Baripada in Odisha and 45 degrees in Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heatwave for parts of Telangana, Karnataka and Sikkim. There is news of loss of life of a young man in Kannur, Kerala and a woman in Palakkad district due to heat wave. On one hand, there is an effect of heat wave in all the states of the country, while on the other hand, the weather is different in the hilly states. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a period of rain and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Snowfall has been occurring in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh since Saturday. Rain and hailstorm have also been seen in many areas. For Himachal, the Meteorological Department has said that there will be rain here on Tuesday also and the weather will remain bad at some places on May 1st also. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow rain alert for Himachal today. Due to western disturbances continuously coming towards the hilly areas, there is heavy snowfall and rain even in the summer season. Many western disturbances have occurred since January this year. Due to which there has been sporadic rain in the hilly areas and the plain areas adjacent to them. Whereas, the Meteorological Department had already said that this time there will be more heat in the plains and coastal states. This time the Meteorological Department has also predicted more than average rainfall across the country during the monsoon season.
