The World Bank said the devastating developments in Ukraine would have far-reaching economic and social implications. We are working closely with the International Monetary Fund to assess this. Malpass discussed the situation with the World Bank’s Board of Directors and said they have created a Global Crisis Risk Forum to accelerate coordination across the World Bank Group.
Malpass met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Munich on Saturday. He expressed the support of the World Bank Group for Ukraine and the people of the region. He said that additional resources would be provided to Ukraine to deal with the situation.
