Let us tell you that talks were going on with Pakistan for months to send this humanitarian aid. After this, it was recently decided that India would send the first consignment of wheat to Afghanistan by road through the Attari-Wagah border. According to the information, this consignment will reach Afghanistan via Pakistan via Attari-Wagah border.
The Government of India had requested to provide transit facility to send 50 thousand metric tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan via Pakistan. For this, a proposal was sent to the Government of Pakistan on 7 October 2021. Pakistan had responded to this proposal on 24 November, after which talks on transport started.
A consignment of medicines had reached Afghanistan on Saturday
As part of its efforts to provide aid to Afghanistan, India has in the last few months transported a large quantity of life-saving drugs and many other essential items to the crisis-hit country. The last consignment of medicines had reached Afghanistan only on Saturday. The consignment carried two and a half tons of medical supplies and winter clothes.
India has not given recognition to Taliban’s government
It is to be noted here that India has not recognized the new Taliban government in Afghanistan. India has insisted that an inclusive government should be formed in Kabul. The Indian government has also said that Afghan land should not be used for terrorist activities against any country.
