New Delhi. Due to heavy rains in Assam, the situation there is becoming increasingly serious. Along with this, flood-like situation is being created in many areas of Assam due to rain. Due to this train services are also getting affected. Due to which the administration has issued an orange alert in Assam and Meghalaya. Especially in Dima Hasao, normal life is being affected due to heavy rains. Let us inform that due to the Asani cyclone, it is raining continuously in Assam, due to which a situation like waterlogging has arisen in many areas. After this disaster, the army personnel have started the rescue work. Indian Army personnel carried out rescue operations in the flood-affected areas of Balichara and Barkhola in Cachar district last night.
6 districts, 94 villages and 24,681 people affected by rain
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority has said that incessant rains have caused landslides in 12 villages of Dima Hasao district. With this, about 80 houses in that area have been badly affected. Three people including a woman from Haflong area have also died due to this landslide and a part of the road in the same area was washed away due to torrential rains. Assam State Disaster Management also informed that a total of 24,681 people in 94 villages of 6 districts- Dhemaji, Cachar, Hojai, Karbi, Kamrup and Anglong West have been affected by this rain.
Before this rain, the Indian Meteorological Department had predicted heavy rains in many parts of Assam till 15th. According to the report of the Meteorological Department, a major effect of south-westerly winds is being seen in the lower troposphere in the Bay of Bengal. Along with this, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in Arunachal, Telangana, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram for the coming five days.
