New Delhi. Home Minister Amit Shah today met Trinamool Congress workers protesting against the Tripura violence. After this, the Home Minister has sought a report from the state CM Biplab Dev regarding the violence. During the meeting, TMC MPs also submitted a memorandum against the arrest of Sayoni Ghosh. Let us tell that in a few days, the civic elections are to be held in Tripura and before that the TMC is protesting against the alleged police brutality and attacks on the workers of Tripura unit.
Let us inform that recently TMC had accused the police of lathi-charging during a program. Simultaneously, the worker had alleged that BJP workers disrupted his election campaign in the Northeast. At the same time, there have been several clashes between the workers of both the factions in the last one month ahead of the civic polls in the state. In protest against this, the workers had announced to protest today.
The issue of Seoni’s arrest raised in the meeting
In the protest, TMC MPs also raised the issue of arrest of Youth TMC President Sayoni Ghosh. Along with this, the MPs also submitted a memorandum regarding the arrest of Sayoni during the meeting with the Home Minister. According to the information, Sayoni is accused of trying to kill a BJP worker. A case has been registered against him under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 153.
At the same time, the police say that Sayoni Ghosh allegedly tried to crush BJP workers in a public meeting. Agartala police has arrested him in this case. TMC MPs were protesting on all these issues and were asking for an appointment with the Home Minister. At the same time, after meeting Amit Shah, he ended his performance.
