Japanese automaker Honda has officially revealed the 2022 Giorno in its home market, with a number of minor cosmetic changes. Honda has carried forward the retro design of the Giorno scooter which includes a round headlamp, round turn indicators, a bulbous taillight and curvy body panels. It also gets round rear-view mirrors, single-piece seats and two separate storage spaces in the front apron.

The company discontinued the ‘Deluxe’ variant

Let us tell you, this scooter (Giorno) is now available in only one base variant, while the company has discontinued the ‘Deluxe’ variant. Along with this, Honda has also unveiled the 2022 Dunk. Although the Dunk scooter is mechanically similar to the Giorno, it has a slightly different styling. Features include an analog instrument console (with a digital readout for the odometer, fuel gauge) and a 12V USB charging port.

Similar engine options available on both the scooters

Both the Honda Giorno and the Dunk are powered by a 49cc single-cylinder engine that produces 4.5 PS of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 4.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. However, this performance is good enough for city riding only. Honda claims that this scooter is capable of giving mileage of up to 80 kmpl.

Economical and low cost scooter

In terms of pricing, the 2022 Honda Giorno is priced at JPY 209,000 (approx INR 1.36 lakh), while the Dunk has been priced at JPY 229,000 (approx INR 1.49 lakh). Notably, these are entry-level scooters in Japan aimed at those looking for an affordable, low-cost, simple daily commuter.
