The company gave this information by issuing a press release on Thursday. The company will also help solve battery-related problems of small electric vehicles through this subsidiary. Honda Motor has informed that it will start battery sharing service for electric auto rickshaws, also known as e-rickshaws, in Bengaluru, Karnataka in the first half of 2022. After this, gradually this service will be started in other cities of the country as well.

Honda Motor’s battery sharing service subsidiary project has been set up at a cost of Rs 135 crore. Along with this, the company has also informed that it is a single shareholder in this. It is clear from this that the company is taking this project related to the battery of electric vehicles in the country seriously and is taking all necessary steps related to it.

Honda aims to set up a battery sharing service subsidiary in India to enable its subscribers to exchange the batteries of their small electric vehicles at their nearest battery swapping station in the city. At the battery swapping station, they will receive a fully charged Honda’s new portable and swappable ‘Honda Mobile Power Pack E:’ battery. With the help of this service, drivers will not have to wait for charging, which will save time. Through the battery sharing service, Honda will also work with multiple vehicle OEMs who want to install Honda batteries in their vehicles. It will provide necessary technical information for the interface. The company aims to connect and provide this facility to as many drivers as possible while expanding the OEM, application and service segment.
