The rule will also be applicable in the hospitals set up for Corona only
Corona cases are increasing continuously in the country. Patients are not getting beds in the hospital, in such a situation, many hospitals are refusing to give the benefit of cashless mediclaim facility to the patients. Due to which Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman herself had to tweet about this.

After the tweet of the Finance Minister, the operators of IRDA themselves have warned such hospitals that strict action will be taken against them if they deny the benefit of mediclaim to the patients of Corona with cashless policy.
It is clarified by IRDAI that where insurers have an arrangement with the hospitals for providing cashless facility, such network hospitals are obligated to provide cashless treatment for all treatments including treatment for COVID-19.

Apart from this, the Finance Minister also said that hospitals specially made only for Corona will also have to provide mediclaim facility. If any hospital does not follow this rule, then patients can also make their complaint on the website issued by IRDA.
