Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accused the BJP of playing politics over the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. He questioned how many of them have been resettled in the Valley by the BJP since coming to power. There is a war of words between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over ‘The Kashmir Files’. Meanwhile, Kejriwal once again suggested that the film should be uploaded on YouTube and the earnings so far should be spent on the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits.
Responding to a question on his remarks on the film and criticism of the BJP, Kejriwal said, “In the last 25 years since the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, there have been BJP governments at the Center in 13 years including the last eight. Has any Kashmiri Pandit family been rehabilitated? Not a single family has returned to Kashmir. Concrete steps should be taken so that Kashmiri Pandits can return to their homes.”

Kejriwal said that ‘The Kashmir Files’ has earned around Rs 200 crore. He alleged that the BJP was making money on someone’s tragedy through the film. The Chief Minister said, “This is a crime. The country will not tolerate it. The BJP is doing politics on the issue. We demand that the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ be uploaded on YouTube. Kejriwal had made this suggestion for the first time in the assembly on Thursday. He criticized the move to make the film tax-free and suggested the filmmaker to put it on YouTube so that everyone can see it. He also took a dig at BJP leaders for promoting the film. The BJP hit back, accusing Kejriwal of mocking those who lost their lives in Jammu and Kashmir due to terrorism. “Never forget this,” tweeted BJP general secretary B L Santosh, posting a picture of Kejriwal and other AAP MLAs laughing in the Delhi Assembly.
