Simranjeet Singh/Shahjahanpur: If you buy vegetables from the market and make some mistakes while cooking, then instead of providing you nutrition, these vegetables can be harmful to your health. Because many types of harmful pesticides are used in preparing the vegetables coming in the market.
Dr. Vidya Gupta, home science expert of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Niyamatpur, said that many types of harmful pesticides are used in preparing vegetables in summer. After spraying these pesticides, their effect remains on the vegetables for several days. In such a situation, it is important to wash and clean the vegetables thoroughly before cooking, so that the effect of pesticides can be reduced.
Do this work before cooking vegetables
Dr. Vidya Gupta told that after bringing vegetables from the market, first of all wash them thoroughly with clean water. After that add vinegar in water and keep it immersed for 20 minutes to half an hour. Apart from this, vegetables can also be cleaned by adding baking soda to water. Or add salt to water and leave the vegetables immersed in it. After that, vegetables can be cooked after washing them two to three times with clean water. By doing this the effect of harmful pesticides can be reduced to some extent.
This pesticide is very harmful
Dr. Vidya Gupta says that pesticides named Imidacloprid or Thiamethoxam can be used in vegetables prepared in the summer season. Both these pesticides are harmful for health. Because once sprayed, their effect lasts for 5 to 7 days. Farmers harvest the vegetables and bring them to the market within a few hours of spraying. Eating it cooked is considered harmful for health.
