Congress has prepared many formulas on paper in Udaipur’s Chintan Shivir, but the team that implemented them does not fit into it. The team of Madhya Pradesh Congress which has to follow the formula is full of leaders of 60 plus age. The same team has not even called the executive committee meeting in four years. How much such an unfit team will be able to work on the formula of Chintan Shivir, that is a big question.
In Udaipur’s Chintan Shivir, formulas have been given by taking many decisions at the organization level, but in Madhya Pradesh many leaders will not be able to fit in that formula. The average age of 50 percent of the leaders in the posts of the organization has been fixed at 50 years but at present most of the office bearers are of 60 plus age. State Congress President Kamal Nath has turned 76 today. The number of members of his executive is not known till date due to the ruckus of posts. But even of the 40 members whose executive was initially announced, only 20 per cent would be below 50 years of age. Other important office bearers of his team, organization in-charge Vice President Chandraprabhash Shekhar and Senior Vice President Prakash Jain have also crossed the age of 70. Two other important leaders of Kamal Nath’s team, Rajiv Singh and Ashok Singh, are also above 60 years of age. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh’s age is also more than 70 years.
long list of leaders who turned sixty
At present, most of the people of Kamal Nath’s team are around 60 years of age in the formula of keeping 50 percent youths below 50 years of age in the organization in Chintan Shivir. Scheduled Caste Cell President Surendra Chaudhary, Scheduled Tribe President Ajay Shah, OBC President Rajmani Patel, Legal Cell President Rajendra Babbar, Kisan Congress President Dinesh Gurjar, Cultural Cell President Rambabu Sharma, Media Department Vice President Bhupendra Gupta, Media In-charge KK Mishra, Morcha Cell Coordinator and Election Commission’s in-charge JP Dhanopia, leaders like Narmadaprasad Prajapati, General Secretary Mahendra Singh Chauhan, Rajkumar Patel, who are handling the divisional-sector responsibility in the organization elections, are more than sixty years old. Mahila Congress President Vibha Patel will also not be able to fit the age formula of Chintan Shivir.
executive meeting not held
It has also been decided in the Chintan Shivir that the executive committee from the block to the All India Congress Committee will meet at least once a year. But Kamal Nath took over the responsibility of PCC chief on May 1, 2018 and since then till date the meeting of the executive committee has not been called even once. Except for the executive, his own core committee meetings are held almost daily at his residence when he is in Bhopal.
