Chennai, June 18 (IANS)| Automaker Hyundai Motor India on Friday launched its premium 6 and 7-seater SUV Alcazar. A senior company official said that India’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motor India Limited is expecting good sales in its Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment with the launch of the 6/7 seater Alcazar.
He further added, “SUVs contribute about 45 per cent of the company’s total sales. SUV sales are expected to increase with the launch of premium SUV 6/7 seater Alcazar.” In the last financial year, the company sold a total of 575,877 units in the domestic market including sales and exports. Speaking on the launch of the company’s new premium SUV 6/7 seater Alcazar on Friday, Tarun Garg, Director (Marketing and Sales), Hyundai India told reporters that SUVs (Venue, Creta, Kona and SUVs) contribute 45 per cent to the company’s sales. The company currently holds a 25 per cent market share in the SUV segment.
