Senior Congress leader Dr. Karan Singh’s son Vikramaditya Singh resigned from the Congress. Congress leader and former MLC from Jammu and Kashmir Vikramaditya Singh said that he has submitted his resignation from the primary membership of Indian National Congress party to National President Smt. Sonia Gandhi. Let us tell you that Vikramaditya Singh is the grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh of the then princely state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Announcing his resignation in tweets, he said, “My position on important issues with J&K which reflects national interest does not coincide with that of Congress. The party differs from the ground reality.”
In his statement today, he said that the Congress party has failed to realize and understand the feelings and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He said the party was oblivious to the ground realities and unable to make necessary organizational and other changes to keep up with the emerging scenarios not only in J&K, but also at the national level.
Vikramaditya Singh said that after joining the Congress in 2018, he has openly expressed his views in support of many issues or incidents which do not match with the stand of the Congress party. Contains; Balakot air strikes in POJK, re-empowerment of Village Defense Committees (VDCs) in J&K, removal of Article 370 and 35A, formation of Ladakh UT, condemnation of Gupkar alliance and support for delimitation process/draft in J&K is included.
