Chhindwara. When Indian Air Force (IAF) Corporal Vicky Pahade left home 15 days ago after attending his sister’s wedding to join his unit in Jammu and Kashmir, hardly anyone would have imagined that this would be his This will prove to be the last journey.
Pahade (33) was among the five personnel who were injured in the attack by terrorists on an Indian Air Force convoy near Shahsitar in Poonch district on Saturday evening. Later he breathed his last in a military hospital.
Superintendent of Police Manish Khatri said that the mortal remains of Pahade, a resident of Nonia Karbal area of Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, will be brought to Nagpur in the neighboring state of Maharashtra by a special Air Force aircraft on Monday.
According to family members, Pahade had joined the Indian Air Force in 2011. He is survived by his wife Reena and son Hardik. He told that Pahade had returned to his unit on April 18 after attending his younger sister’s wedding.
