The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has taken a tough stand after several advertisements of online betting websites/platforms appeared on print, electronic, social and online media. Taking this into account, the ministry has issued an advisory. While giving instructions, it was said on behalf of the Ministry that online and social media including online advertising intermediaries and publishers should not display such advertisements in India. The statement advises not to target such advertisements to Indian audiences.
