Amidst the scorching heat, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many states. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Tripura may receive rain during the next five days. While Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana will see more heat to come.
According to the Meteorological Department, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from the night of April 12 and under its influence the maximum temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius over many parts of Northwest India. These states are Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in these states for the next five days. The Meteorological Department says that people in these states can get some relief from the heat wave.

Severe heatwave conditions very likely over isolated parts of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi from April 10-11. Heat wave conditions will continue over parts of Uttar Pradesh (East and West) and West Madhya Pradesh. In Jharkhand also there is a possibility of heat wave from April 10 to 12.
