New Delhi. Amazon is working on a new Alexa feature that will let the virtual assistant mimic your family member’s voice and then tell your favorite bedtime stories while you sleep. Rohit Prasad, Senior Vice President, Amazon and Head Scientist, Alexa, said, “We are undoubtedly living in the golden age of AI, where our dreams and science fiction are becoming reality. At the company’s annual Re:Mars conference in Las Vegas late Wednesday, Prasad said the Alexa team used just one minute of speech to achieve the feat. “It required inventions where we had to learn to produce high quality sound with less than a minute of recording time versus hours of recording in the studio,” Pradas told the audience.

During a presentation, a child asked, “Alexa, can you tell me the magician’s story in Grandma’s voice?” Alexa said yes and then immediately changed her voice, sounding like the baby’s grandma in real life. Work is currently underway on the Alexa feature.

Amazon has announced the hosting of its annual Alexa Live event for developers on July 20th and we can hear more about that. Alexa Live 2022 will give attendees a deep dive into the science behind the science powering the next generation of ‘ambient intelligence.’ This can only be realized through a wider collaboration among all our partners.”

Customers around the world now have millions of Alexa devices. People are using Alexa to play their favorite songs, read the latest headlines, dim the lights in their living rooms, and more.
