What causes pot belly?
Nutritionist Shivani Kandwal Has shared a post on her Instagram account, in which she gives information about pot belly and writes that pot belly is quite common in men. Pot belly is a symptom of slow or fatty liver. Fatty liver disease is one of the most prevalent metabolic disorders nowadays. Let us tell you that this is not always related to alcohol consumption.
Insulin helps cells absorb glucose from the blood when the body’s muscles and tissues need energy. However, when the glucose level in the blood is high, it also helps the liver to store the extra glucose. If the body develops insulin resistance it means that our cells will not respond to insulin the way they should. As a result, a lot of fat gets accumulated in the liver.
