Devotees gathered for darshan in Badrinath
: The Uttarakhand government has made registration mandatory for pilgrims going on the Char Dham (Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath) Yatra and has issued an order that pilgrims should go there for the Yatra only after getting registered. Keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the pilgrims, the Uttarakhand government has implemented a mandatory registration system for Char Dham Yatra-2024. Any traveler who comes without registering will have to face problems. An advisory has also been sent to the states by the Uttarakhand government in this regard.
Advisory issued
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has issued an advisory for the pilgrims in which they have been requested to come on the pilgrimage only after registration. It has been said in the advisory that if they come without registration, they can be stopped at the ‘barrier’ or ‘check point’ and due to this they will have to face a lot of inconvenience. The pilgrims have also been advised that after registration, they should come on the pilgrimage only on the scheduled date and go on the same route for the Dham for which they have registered.
The UP government also appealed to the devotees
In this regard, the Uttar Pradesh government has appealed to the pilgrims of the state who are going on or wishing to go on the Char Dham Yatra that they must register compulsorily and go to Uttarakhand only on the date registered. The UP government has also appealed to all the tour operators and travel agents of the state to ensure that their customers have done the necessary registration before starting the journey. The government has said that all interested devotees should be aware of the travel related guidelines, so that their Char Dham Yatra can be completed smoothly without any hindrance.
Chardham Yatra started on 10 May
Since the start of the Yatra on May 10, 8,52,018 pilgrims have visited the four Dhams in the first 13 days. Officials said that ‘offline’ registration has been stopped in Haridwar and Rishikesh and now devotees can come on Chardham Yatra only after ‘online’ registration. He said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is very serious about the systematic, smooth, safe and convenient journey of devotees coming from the country and the world on Chardham Yatra.
