The judge delivered the verdict on a petition filed by Chaudhry Bilal Ijaz, an independent candidate supported by former Prime Minister Imran Khan-led PTI.

Ijaz’s lawyer on Tuesday argued that his client was initially declared elected by 7,791 votes, but the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declared him victorious by a margin of 3,100 votes in a recount on the request of respondent Nahra. done. The lawyer said that in the recount, at least 10,000 votes of the petitioner were declared void. Meanwhile, the Bahawalpur bench of Lahore High Court also removed PML-N MP from NA-154 Lodhran Abdul Rehman Kanju from the post in a similar case and declared PTI-backed independent candidate Rana Faraz Noon the winner.
