The Director General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has refused to hold talks with Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI). He says there will be no talks unless the party leadership makes a public apology for last year’s May 9 protests. PTI chief and former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has refused to apologize over the May 9 protests. According to Pakistani media, after the court proceedings in the corruption case in Adiala jail, when journalists asked Imran Khan whether he would apologize for the May 9 protests, he replied ‘no’.
“Was unaware of those protests”
According to the media report, “He said that I had already condemned those violent protests. I came to know about the protests when I appeared before the then Chief Justice of Pakistan. I was in custody at that time and Was unaware of those protests.” According to Pakistani media, Imran Khan said, “I wanted talks for the interest of Pakistan and not for any compromise for personal gain.” I have no problem with the army, even my close relatives are serving in the armed forces and bureaucracy.”
There were violent demonstrations after the arrest
