Pakistan has been grappling with political instability since the arrest of Imran Khan on May 9 on corruption charges. Imran may be getting bail from the courts but his difficulties are not reducing. On the one hand, where the Shahbaz government is creating a mood to ban his party, on the other hand, his close ones are leaving the party. Pak Defense Minister said in Islamabad, ‘PTI attacked the foundation of the country, which has never happened before. This cannot be tolerated.
Shireen Mazari left PTI
Khwaja Asif asked, ‘Is there any crime which did not happen on May 9?’ Meanwhile, Shireen Mazari, a close aide of Imran Khan, quit PTI on Tuesday and condemned the actions of Khan’s supporters who attacked military installations across Pakistan on May 9. Mazari has been arrested four times since May 12 and after his release announced his resignation and retirement from active politics.
Qureshi was arrested as soon as he was released
“Not only the violence of May 9 and 10, but I have always condemned violence of all kinds, especially against government establishments and symbols like the General Headquarters, the Supreme Court and Parliament,” he said. On the other hand, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, another leader close to Imran and vice-chairman of PTI, was arrested again on Tuesday soon after he was released from Rawalpindi jail on the orders of an apex court. Shortly after his release from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, the Punjab Police arrested the former minister again.
