Ranchi. There is a war of words between the political parties over the ED’s action against Jharkhand’s senior IAS Pooja Singhal. The leaders of the ruling JMM-Congress-RJD alliance in the state and the main opposition BJP are putting each other in the dock with allegations.
State Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha working president Hemant Soren says that the corruption cases in which the ED action has been taken against Pooja Singhal belong to the tenure of the previous BJP government. He said that the previous government had given a clean chit to Pooja Singhal in corruption related cases. Our government will get an inquiry as to how he got the clean chit and who were the people behind it. Action will be taken against all those who are involved in this case.
On Thursday, former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das responded to Hemant Soren’s allegation by holding a press conference. He said that if a scam happened during my tenure and Pooja Singhal was saved at that time, then why does the government not conduct an investigation? Raghuvar Das said that a committee was formed under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary in his government, which was investigating the allegations against Pooja Singhal. Till then he would not have got the evidence against Pooja Singhal, so clean chit would have been given. The minister and the chief minister had no role in this. If the government is very worried about this matter, then hand over the matter to the CBI within 24 hours.
Here MP and Jharkhand State BJP President Deepak Prakash has said that ED’s action against IAS Pooja Singhal is going on for five days, but despite this the government did not take any action against her. Pooja Singhal committed corruption in the state while serving as Secretary in the Mines and Industries Department and continued to get the support of the government. this is so embarrassing.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey is the most vocal in this episode. He has made more than a dozen tweets regarding the Pooja Singhal episode in the last five days. He directly attacked Hemant Soren and said that because of his deeds, his departure from the power of the state is certain.
JMM’s central spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said in a press conference that as soon as the ED’s crackdown on Pooja Singhal’s premises started, two former BJP chief ministers Raghuvar Das and Babulal Marandi went missing. Although the very next day of this press conference, Babulal Marandi came out and said that he has not gone anywhere, but the public understands well what is the reason for JMM’s restlessness.
