Ind vs Aus: Australia captain took a long break before the match against India

Melbourne. The Indian team is to tour Australia at the end of the year. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India will enter the field with the intention of winning the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Kangaroo team has lost at home in the last two series. Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins has taken an eight-week break keeping in mind the five-Test match series against India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year.

Cummins has recently returned to Australia after participating in Major League Cricket in America. In view of the busy summer schedule in Australia, he has decided to take a break to keep himself fresh. Due to this, he has not been selected in the team for the limited overs tour of England. Fox Sports quoted Cummins as saying, “Everyone feels refreshed when they return after a break. You never regret it.”

He said, “I have been bowling continuously since the final of the World Test Championship about 18 months ago. This break will give me time to rest for seven or eight weeks. After this I can refresh myself and start preparing for the summer.”

Australia have not won the Border Gavaskar Trophy since 2017 and Cummins is desperate to win this series. He said, “I have not won the trophy yet. This is a trophy that many players of our team have not won yet. Our goal in the summer will be to win it. India’s team is really very good. We play a lot of cricket against each other and understand each other well but I think this time we are in a good position to win the trophy.
