Captain Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer could not show anything special with their bat and were disposed of cheaply. Shikhar Dhawan returned to the pavilion after scoring just 7 runs in 17 balls. Mehdi Hasan Miraj clean bowled Dhawan to make his first victim.
