New Delhi. India registered an emphatic win in the first ODI against New Zealand on the back of Shubman Gill’s brilliant double century and a brilliant performance by the bowlers. India won their first match by 12 runs and the hero of this victory was Indian batsman Shubman Gill, who was also adjudged man of the match. With this victory, India has also taken a 1-0 lead in the ODI series.

The point to be noted here is that whenever Team India has fielded against New Zealand at home, India has won. There have been six series between the two teams on the Indian ground since 1988. In all these series only Indian players have won.

Shubman Gill scored a double century on the ground of Hyderabad, created history
Shubman Gill, who came out to open against New Zealand, while presenting a brilliant batting view, got rid of the sixes of the New Zealand bowlers and completed his double century in just 146 balls. With the double century, he has joined the list of players like Ishaan Kishan, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma. It is indeed a proud moment for India when a young player scores a double century against a big team like New Zealand. All the spectators present on the ground are standing and greeting Shubman Gill. With the double century of Shubman Gill, the Indian team scored 349 runs in front of New Zealand and New Zealand will have to score a mountain like 350 runs to win against the Indian team.
Against New Zealand, Hardik Pandya was dismissed for 28, Darrell Mitchell was dismissed on the fourth ball of the 40th over.
