New Delhi. In the fourth test played in Ranchi, India defeated England by 5 wickets. The pair of Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel played an important role in India’s victory. Both the players brought Team India out of a difficult situation and led it to victory. While chasing the target, India lost five wickets for 120 runs. From there, Gill and Jurel together made a partnership of 72* runs (136 balls) and led India to victory. Gill scored an unbeaten 52* while Jurel contributed 39*. After losing seven wickets for 177 runs in the first innings, Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav made an important partnership of 76 runs for the eighth wicket, due to which India could reach the score of 307 runs.
India got off to an impressive start to chase the target and at the end of the third day’s play, no wickets fell with 40 runs left on the board. However, the game took a dramatic turn on the fourth day. Yashasvi Jaiswal was out in the 18th over after scoring 37 runs with the help of five fours. Then in the 26th over, captain Rohit Sharma was out after scoring 55 runs with the help of five fours and one six. Root dismissed Jaiswal, while Tom Hartley took the wicket of Rohit. Then, Rajat Patidar was out for a duck in the 27th over, followed by Ravindra Jadeja in the 39th over after scoring just 4 runs. Bashir dismissed Patidar, Jadeja and Sarfaraz Khan LBW. At this time India had lost five wickets for 120 runs.
