India and the European Union (EU) on Friday resumed talks for a trade and investment agreement after more than eight years. EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrowski said in a tweet that the EU is pleased to announce that negotiations for an FTA with India have once again formally begun.
Significantly, this talks in the Belgian capital Brussels comes a year after India and the European Union announced the resumption of talks for a balanced and comprehensive trade deal. Speaking on the occasion, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the implementation of these agreements will help in highlighting the important issues.
