Bari (Italy): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during the G7 summit in Italy. During this, India and Japan together made new commitments for the security and peace and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region. PM Modi said that strong relations between India and Japan are important for a peaceful, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. Prime Minister Modi was on a day-long visit to Apulia in southern Italy to address the ‘Outreach Session’ on the second day of the three-day G-7 summit. He met Kishida after his address on ‘Artificial Intelligence, Energy, Africa and the Mediterranean’. The Prime Minister said on social media after talks with Kishida, “Strong relations between India and Japan are important for a peaceful, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific.”
PM Modi’s statement is a matter of tension for China
Modi’s statement has come amid China’s aggressive behavior in the region and its efforts to increase its dominance. In such a situation, it is being seen as a big tension for China. He said, “Our countries are ready to work together in the field of defense, technology, semiconductors, clean energy and digital technology. We also want to take forward the relationship in infrastructure and cultural relations. ” In a statement issued regarding the talks between the two leaders, the Ministry of External Affairs said that Prime Minister Modi thanked Kishida for his congratulations on his re-election and also said that bilateral relations will remain important in his third term as well.
