Bahrain. In the current situation, India will not go to Pakistan to play cricket under any circumstances. This decision is final and there is no scope for any change in it. In fact, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi has called a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Bahrain. Jai Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has reached Bahrain. The PCB intends to take a decision on hosting the Asia Cup in Pakistan but BCCI sources have told a news agency that there is little chance of Pakistan hosting the Asia Cup in September this year. If PCB wants to host, then the tournament can be done in UAE. Or there can be matches in Sri Lanka, but the Indian team will not go to play Pakistan under any circumstances.
Last year i.e. in 2022, ACC released the program of cricket, but did not give information about the host of Asia Cup in it. Najam Sethi, who became the new PCB chairman, accused Jay Shah of taking a unilateral decision. In 2022 itself, Jai Shah had clearly said that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan. Cricketer Rameez Raja was the chief of PCB at that time. Rameez Raja retorted and said that if it is so, then even the Pakistan team will not go to India to play the One Day World Cup in 2023.
According to BCCI sources, whatever Pakistan says, but BCCI is not going to change its stand. There is also no approval from the government to visit Pakistan. Due to the current situation in Pakistan, Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in the Kashmir Valley, the Government of India has banned the sending of a team from BCCI to Pakistan for a long time. In recent times, terrorist incidents are continuously increasing in Pakistan. In such a situation, there is no question of sending a team at the moment. However, ACC meeting is going to be held in Bahrain today. In this, there is full hope from Jai Shah’s side to stick to the BCCI’s stand. Everyone’s eyes are on where the Asia Cup cricket tournament is held after the BCCI’s stand.
