Amarnath Yatra, which takes place every year in Jammu and Kashmir, will start from June 30 this time. Officials gave this information on Sunday. The decision was taken in the meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board regarding this 43-day long yatra to visit the Himling in the Amarnath cave located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the Himalayan region of South Kashmir. The meeting was presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
In a tweet made by the Lieutenant Governor’s office, it was told that the 43-day holy pilgrimage will start from June 30 following all the rules of Corona and will end on the day of Raksha Bandhan as per tradition. We have discussed in depth various aspects related to the upcoming pilgrimage.
In August 2019, due to the abrogation of most of the provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, the Amarnath Yatra was canceled midway that year, while due to the Corona epidemic for two years i.e. 2020 and 2021. Only symbolic travel was allowed. During both these years the worship of Baba Barfani was continued in the holy cave in the Vedic tradition.
Registration will start from April 2
It was told by the Shrine Board that registration for the Yatra would be started from April 2. Only 20 thousand people will be registered in a day. Apart from this, registration can also be done by visiting the counter during the journey.
