PM Narendra Modi may have become the Prime Minister of the country twice, but at the moment his intention is not to take rest, but to achieve 100 percent target of government schemes. He said these things while talking to the beneficiaries of “Utkarsh Samaroh” organized in Bharuch, Gujarat on Thursday (May 12, 2022). Recalling an anecdote, he said that some time ago an opposition leader told me that the country has made you PM twice, what is needed now.
The Prime Minister had virtually attended this function. PM Modi was addressing the beneficiaries of Gujarat government’s financial assistance schemes for widows, elderly and destitute citizens through video link.
PM Modi said, “One day a very big leader met me. Usually they oppose us politically, but I respect them.” “He (Opposition leader) was not happy on some issues, so he had come to meet me,” the PM said.
The PM said, “He said- Modi ji, the country has made you Prime Minister twice, so what more do you want now? According to them, if someone becomes prime minister twice, he has achieved everything. “He doesn’t know that Modi is a different kind of person. The land of Gujarat made me, so I don’t believe in making life easy, like whatever happened it happened and now I should take rest, no. My dream is saturation, to achieve 100% target of welfare schemes.
The Prime Minister did not mention anyone’s name while narrating this anecdote, but his statement came a month after his meeting with NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Sharad Pawar had met the PM in Delhi. Their meeting was over the action of central agencies against Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and the family members of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit. He raised these issues in the meeting.
