He said that now all people above 60 years of age in the country will be given a precautionary dose of anti-coronavirus vaccines. Earlier this dose was being given only to people suffering from serious illness in this age group.

The Health Ministry said in a statement that the central government, after consultation with scientific bodies, has decided to introduce anti-coronavirus vaccination for children in the age group of 12-13 years and 13-14 years (born in 2008 to 2010). .
Daily cases lowest in 680 days
There is a steady decline in the daily cases of corona virus infection in the country. In 24 hours, 2,503 people have been found infected, which is the lowest in 680 days. The number of patients who have recovered from this disease has increased to 4,24,41,449 and the death rate was recorded at 1.20 percent.
The ministry said that 180.19 crore doses have been given so far under the nationwide anti-coronavirus vaccination campaign. The daily infection rate was recorded at 0.47 percent and the weekly infection rate was recorded at 0.47. Of the 27 more people who have lost their lives to the disease in the country, 16 are from Kerala. So far, a total of 5,15,877 people have died due to this epidemic, out of which 1,43,752 are in Maharashtra, 66,808 in Kerala, 40,018 in Karnataka, 38,023 in Tamil Nadu, 26,141 in Delhi, 23,492 in Uttar Pradesh and 21,187 in West.
