Union Home Minister Amit Shah was on a tour of West Bengal on Thursday where he made a big statement regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Amit Shah said that TMC spreads confusion about CAA that it will not be implemented but as soon as the wave of COVID ends, we will implement it on the ground. The Home Minister said this while addressing a rally in Siliguri, West Bengal.
Hitting out at CM Mamata Banerjee, Amit Shah said, “Mamata didi wants infiltration… CAA was reality, is reality and is going to be reality.” Targeting West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, the Home Minister said, “Mamata didi has made Bengal financially poor. Bengal had 30% share in the country’s GDP in 1947 which was reduced to 3.3% in 2022. Mamta didi will you answer to the people of Bengal?”
The Union Home Minister hit out at the Mamata Banerjee government for its alleged failure to stop the political violence. Attacking Mamata Banerjee over the Birbhum violence, Amit Shah said, “If anything happens across the country, Mamta didi sends a delegation of TMC. Didi, 8 women and 1 child were burnt alive in Birbhum, why didn’t you send a delegation there? Aren’t your people from Birbhum?
He said, “Mamata didi even after electing you 3 times, you are not improving, till you do not end the rule of atrocities, corruption, catastrophe and syndicate on the people of Bengal, BJP will continue its fight.” Amit Shah said that after the violence that took place here after the elections, the Human Rights Commission said that there is no rule of law in Bengal but the rule of the will of those in power here. The Home Minister said that 101 people were killed, 1829 people were injured and TMC goons were found guilty in more than 161 cases.
