Anchor Sandeep Choudhary asked, “We were charging Rs 32.90 on petrol and Rs 31.80 on diesel. Even today the excise has been reduced to Rs 19.90 on petrol and Rs 15.80 on diesel. Even when the price of oil fell in terms of per barrel, you did not reduce the price.

On the other hand, Congress leader Rohan Gupta also raised questions on the government’s decision and said that more excise duty had already been increased. He said that the BJP government has increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 18-20 since 2014, which is double as compared to earlier. He said that the inflation rate has reached the highest level in 30 years.
