The party has taken action against Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi, who cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections held on June 10. Kuldeep Bishnoi has been removed from the membership of CWC (Special Invitee) after consultation with party interim president Sonia Gandhi. Apart from this, the party will write a letter to the Speaker for cancellation of membership from the Assembly.
In a letter issued by the Congress, it was said on behalf of KC Venugopal that party MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi is expelled from all the existing posts of the party with immediate effect. Let us inform that Bishnoi had earlier cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections in Haryana.
On being expelled from the party, Kuldeep Bishnoi has retaliated through tweet. He wrote, “For some leaders there are rules in Congress but for some the rules are just exceptions. Party rules are selectively enforced. Indiscipline has been overlooked time and again in the past. In my case, I listened to my soul and worked my morals.”
Significantly, on June 10, voting was held for two seats for the Haryana Rajya Sabha. In which BJP nominated one member and Congress nominated one member. At the same time, Kartikeya Sharma was in the fray as an independent in this election. In the results that came out, BJP’s Krishan Lal Panwar and BJP-JJP-supported independent candidate Karthikeya Sharma have won.
Congress candidate Ajay Maken has to face defeat. Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi is accused of cross-voting in this election, due to which Ajay Maken could not win. After the defeat of Ajay Maken, Kuldeep Bishnoi wrote in one of his tweets, “I have the skill to crush the fun, I do not leave the forest due to the fear of snakes.”

Mathematics of defeat: Let us inform that Returning Officer RK Nandal informed that BJP candidate Krishan Lal Panwar got 36 votes. While Kartikeya Sharma got 23 first preference votes and 6.6 votes got transferred from BJP. Due to which the total number of votes that Karthikeya Sharma got has gone up to 29.6. Apart from this, Congress candidate Ajay Maken got 29 votes. He could not win as he had no second preference vote.
Congress was confident before the election: Before the voting for the Rajya Sabha elections, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, while talking to a private channel, said that Congress has enough numbers. 31 MLAs are needed for one seat. And Congress has a total of 31 MLAs. In such a situation, a Congress candidate will easily win.
