The corona virus infection epidemic has also affected the branches of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Due to the pandemic, there has been a comma on the increase in the number of branches. The Sangh has admitted that the growth of its branches has come down due to the Corona epidemic, but this shortcoming will be filled in the next two-three months. However, the number of branches has increased by more than 5,000 as compared to last year. But from the month of March 2019 to 2022, the growth of branches remained 1663.
According to the annual report released this year, 60,929 branches are functioning in the country as of March 2022. In March, 2021 this number was 55,692. That is, the number of branches in the country increased by 5,277 in a span of one year. The annual report was not released in 2020 due to the corona pandemic, whereas in 2019 the number of branches in the country was 59,266. If we look at the figures, we find that the number of branches increased by 1,663 between 2019 and 2022, which is very modest. This period was the period of corona pandemic.
According to the annual report, between 2012 and 2022, the number of branches in the country has increased by more than 20,000. The number of shakhas has been increasing sharply since the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government came to power at the Centre. RSS’s All India Co-Propaganda Chief Narendra Kumar admitted that the growth of shakhas has been affected by the corona pandemic. However, he said that whatever shortfall is left by May-June, it will be filled. Narendra said that we have come out of the epidemic and this year the number of branches has increased by more than five thousand as compared to last year. He said that we are moving ahead according to our schedule.
Target to deliver work in all divisions by 2025
Sangh’s Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale had said on the last day of the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting in Ahmedabad that the centenary year of the Sangh was approaching. Every three years, the Sangh prepares a plan for the expansion of the work (of the geographical and dimensions of the Sangh work), moving forward with that goal. and review it twice every year (Executive Board, House of Representatives). Right now, Sangh work has reached 50 percent of the mandals across the country, in the coming two years, a target has been set to deliver work in all the mandals and a plan has also been made. In urban areas, there is union work in 45 percent of the settlements, the target and plan is to take it to all the settlements in two years. According to sources, the Sangh has set a target of organizing weekly meetings and shakhas at one lakh places in the country by the centenary year.
