About 72 members of the Rajya Sabha are going to retire this year. The name of senior leader of Bahujan Samaj Party Satish Chandra Mishra is included in these MPs. On this occasion, he told the entire journey of his 18 years in the Rajya Sabha, how he has traveled from the last row to the first row.
Learned a lot from Rajya Sabha: MP Satish Chandra Mishra said in his address in the Rajya Sabha that 18 years ago at the age of 52, I came here, today I am 70 years old. There was a vast difference between the life of Rajya Sabha during and before. I was very busy in the profession of advocacy. I also held the post of President of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council. When I came here it was a completely new beginning for me.
We had a very high stature in advocacy. Always used to sit in the front row. When I came here, I started my journey from the last line. Slowly reached the front row and got a chance to sit in this row for a long time. During this I got to learn a lot from everyone.
Told Journey of BSP: The MP told that when I came in 2004, our party had 4 MPs, our party chief Mayawati was also present in Parliament at that time. At one point our number had reached 15 but with the passage of time our number decreased.
Big Brahmin face in UP: Satish Chandra Mishra played an important role in the formation of Mayawati’s government in Uttar Pradesh in 2007. During this, he was also made a cabinet minister in the Mayawati government. Her status in BSP can be gauged from the fact that she is considered as Mayawati’s right hand in BSP. It is also said that Mayawati definitely takes her opinion in taking all major political decisions.
Farewell Party’s Given: All the retiring members of Rajya Sabha were given farewell party at the residence of the Vice President.
