Amid signs of AAP winning a majority in Punjab, its leader Raghav Chadha said his party will emerge as a national party in the coming days and replace the Congress. Had he said this a few days ago, he would have become a laughing stock. But after seeing the results of five states, it is clear that the Congress is now counting its last breaths in national politics.
In fact, the election results of all the five provinces are showing that the nature of politics is going to change at the national level. On one hand the public has expressed deep faith in Narendra Modi and on the other hand the results of Punjab are showing that now instead of Congress, Arvind Kejriwal will give a fight to Modi. The CM of Delhi has also realized this. That is why he has congratulated the people of Punjab for this revolution. He is very happy with the victory.
This victory has special significance for Arvind Kejriwal, because till now AAP was seen doing only Delhi politics. At the national level, he was not taken seriously by other major parties. But now the scene has changed. AAP has not only won Punjab but has also opened in Goa and Uttarakhand. Even though its vote share is very less there, but the party is visible in other states after coming out of Delhi.
Gujarat is now the next target for you. After a strong performance in the Gandhinagar civic polls, she will come out strongly to take on the BJP in the assembly elections to be held next year. If Kejriwal defeats BJP there, then there is no one to stop him. You know this thing and she is not going to leave any stone unturned.
On the other hand, for BJP, the victory in UP, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa means a lot. For the first time in UP, after completing his term, a CM came again with a majority. This thing is a seal that the leadership of Modi is being accepted by the people. However, the increased vote bank of Akhilesh Yadav is a matter of concern for the BJP. The vote bank that BJP had saved in 2014 has been dented by the SP. This is a big alarm bell for BJP.
