Inflation is increasing continuously across the country and the general public is also suffering from inflation because due to inflation, the budget of the people has also been affected. The opposition is also continuously targeting the government regarding inflation and the opposition is also protesting from place to place. A debate was going on on news channel News 24 regarding inflation in which spokespersons of both BJP and Congress parties were also present.
During the debate on the news channel, Congress spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh said, “The per capita income of Bangladesh exceeded the per capita income of India during the Corona period. If you ask them anything, you will say that there was Corona for 2 years and if you ask anything for the next 2 years, you will say that the Russo-Ukraine war was going on. All these things are affecting every country in the world. Then why is the price of gas in our country the highest in the world? Why is the price of petrol the third highest in the world? Ask the Finance Minister why the prices of onions are increasing, then I will say that I do not eat onions.
Congress spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh has further said, “This inflation which is increasing is increasing due to gas-diesel and petrol. Reserve Bank can reduce excise duty slightly with diesel and petrol, Reserve Bank cannot reduce the price of gas, which has increased by more than Rs 140 in the last 1 year. The government claims that the tax collection is increasing continuously. Then why is inflation not coming down? Which development model is this?”
Congress spokesperson said, “Inflation is increasing, growth is decreasing and unemployment is increasing. If inflation increases by 1.2% in 2 months, then it shows that the Indian government is making a big mistake. When there has been a gross revenue collection of 27 lakh crores last year, then why can’t the exemption of excise duty on petrol and diesel be given? When oil prices come down again, then you increase the excise duty.
Let us inform that only after the assembly elections were over, there was a significant increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. Since March 21, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increasing continuously, while the prices of vegetables have also started touching the sky. The price of lemon has reached up to Rs 300 a kg. At the same time, regarding inflation, the government says that inflation is increasing due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
