Giving a big relief from inflation, the central government has reduced the excise duty on the price of petrol and diesel on Saturday. Giving information, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the central excise duty on petrol is being reduced by Rs 8 per liter and on diesel by Rs 6 per liter. This will reduce the price of petrol by Rs 9.5 per liter and that of diesel by Rs 7 per liter.
Along with this, a subsidy of Rs 200 per gas cylinder (up to 12 cylinders) has also been announced to more than 9 crore beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. This means that now the prices of LPG will be reduced for the beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana. However, the subsidy will be given only to the people registered in PM Ujjwala Yojana.
Significantly, this decision has come at a time when the price of LPG gas has crossed Rs 1000 across the country due to the increase in the price of LPG gas by Rs 3.50. This step of the government will give big relief to the poor families.

How much will be the cost per cylinder
After this decision of the central government, now the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will take LPG by paying the cost of the entire cylinder, but later Rs 200 will be sent to their bank account as subsidy.
What do I have to do to get the subsidy?
Under the Ujjwala scheme, to get subsidy on gas cylinders, the gas connection account has to be linked with the Aadhar card. Also your mobile number should also be linked. If neither of these works is completed, the subsidy will not be released. Explain that the government sends the subsidy money to the beneficiaries directly in the bank account.
