Indian Railways brings new facilities to make the journey of the passengers easier. Similarly, to give relief to the passengers from the long queues and going through the long process online, the Railways has given another facility. Under this, passengers will now be able to book tickets easily instead of queuing at stations. If they book the train in a hurry, then their ticket will be booked instantly.
Passengers will be able to take advantage of this facility from the Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) installed at the stations. Its special feature is that passengers can easily make payment for booking tickets by scanning the QR code, which will eliminate the problem of cash. This facility has been given by the railways at some stations now, it can be implemented soon at other stations also.
Facility provided at these 18 stations
QR code based ticket booking facility has been started for passengers at 18 stations of North Western Railway. It includes stations like Barmer, Balotra, Samdari, Jalore, Bhagat ki Kothi, Luni, Pali, Degana, Kuchaman, Nawan, Merta, Nagaur, Nokha, Sujangarh, Jodhpur, Raikabagh, Phalodi and Jaisalmer. At the same time, this facility is already applicable for the passengers of Southern Railway and Northern Railway.
What was the mode of payment earlier
To make payment through ATVMs installed at stations here, earlier payment was done through smartcards issued by railways. Those who did not have this card, they used to take tickets in queues, but now they can easily get tickets through UPI payment. For payment, passengers can use UPI based mobile apps like Paytm, PhonePe, Freecharge, etc.
promotion of digital
This facility has been introduced by the Railways for this reason, so that along with the convenience of the passengers in modern times, digital can also be promoted. Under this, you can also get platform tickets and renew the season pass.
