A video has surfaced of Ahmed Murtaza Abbasi, accused of attacking Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur, in which he is seen saying that CAA-NRC happened to Muslims. Due to this he got angry and attacked Gorakhnath temple. During the TV debate on this issue, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra was furious at those who cited the mental condition of the Gorakhnath temple attack accused Murtaza and said that if Kashmiri Pandits were made homeless, they did not attack mosques.
During the debate show ‘Dangal’ of ‘Aaj Tak’, Sambit Patra targeted those who defended Murtaza, saying, “It happens only in India that an argument is made that terrorism can also have an ‘excuse’- CAA has been imposed on Muslims, NRC is about to happen, so it is justified for some people to become terrorists?
The BJP leader said, “If someone becomes a terrorist because of CAA and NRC, then I would say that five lakh Kashmiri Pandits were made homeless in this country, how many Kashmiri Pandits would be there who picked up the gun, how many Kashmir Pandits became terrorists, how many Kashmiri Pandits attacked mosques? Mosques were told to leave their women and leave, either die or convert. Not a single Kashmiri Pandit attacked the mosque and neither will anyone.”
Sambit Patra further said that terrorism is also a mentality and a neurotic mentality. After this, Anchor Chitra Tripathi asked AIMIM spokesperson Warish Pathan that, a person who watches videos of terrorists and then attacks them. Can such a person be supported in any way?
To this question, Warish Pathan said, “We have never supported terrorists. Whatever has happened has gone wrong and the police is investigating it. His family’s statement has come that his mental condition was not good, but whatever it is… investigation is going on and the court will decide.”
