Amidst the ongoing crisis in Maharashtra, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has asked Uddhav Thackeray to prove his majority on Thursday. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut alleged bias and said that the governor acted faster than Rafale. He also left behind the speed of Rafale in ordering. Looks like he was just waiting for this moment.
Sanjay Raut said that this is an illegal one. The disqualification case of 16 Shiv Sena MLAs is pending in the Supreme Court. He said that till the Supreme Court’s decision on disqualification of MLAs is not received, the special assembly session for floor test cannot be held. Raut said that we are fighting legally. If you want to fight then fight from the front. He said that he will not say much about the Governor, but if such work is done then we too will not sit silent. We too will do something.
It may be noted that a BJP delegation led by Devendra Fadnavis told the Governor that the MVA government had lost its majority. A day after this, Bhagat Singh Koshyari ordered a floor test. The governor said the floor test would be the only agenda for the assembly’s session to be convened at 11 am on Thursday. The situation in the state is disturbing. 39 MLAs have shown willingness to walk out of the Thackeray government. Seven independent MLAs have also sent a letter withdrawing their support.
Shiv Sena has moved the Supreme Court against the Governor’s decision. The petition of Shiv Sena Chief Whip Sunil Prabhu will be heard in the Supreme Court at 5 pm today. On the other hand, amidst the ongoing political turmoil in Maharashtra, the rebel MLAs of Shiv Sena are shifting directly from Guwahati to Goa today. 70 rooms have been booked for MLAs in Goa.
The rebel MLAs will fly to Mumbai on Thursday and go straight to the House to attend the special session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis has called a meeting of BJP leaders at his residence in Mumbai.
